Each year many research articles worldwide are published in journals and magazines looking into the efficacy of acupuncture and other techniques in alleviating common ailments and illnesses.
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommends acupuncture for the management of chronic pain
(see NICE guideline published on April 2021)
When researching a particular illness please be aware of the type of research which was conducted. The higher up the evidence pyramid, the more reliable the evidence. A result achieved multiple times is more reliable than a single occurrence.
Randomised controlled trials, systematic reviews and meta analyses are the best, most reliable evidence science can provide.
The British Acupuncture Council provides an A to Z evidence base on their web site - https://acupuncture.org.uk/about-acupuncture/fact-sheets/
